Systems Engineering & Integration

VNE’s systems engineers assist MCSC Project Officers in the identification, refinement/ modification, and documentation of operational and functional requirements, as well as documentation preparation, update and maintenance. VNE includes system-level interfaces, impact assessments for interfacing systems, and trade-off analyses (technical and costs risks) in the development of Interface Control Documents, system change requests, and formal Engineering Change Proposals.

VNE system engineers analyze the requirements set forth in documentation to facilitate systems design and integration; establish the content and relationship between inputs, processes and outputs necessary to satisfy the operational requirements; and document those relationships in Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) that trace system capabilities and test results to actual system requirements (including source documents and paragraph references). VNE prepares, updates (following each iteration of system testing), and use the RTM to demonstrate the achievement of system threshold and objective requirements, to document capability gaps that need to be addressed, to highlight capabilities that may need to be included in JCIDS documentation, and to protect the program against “requirements creep.”

  • Agile software management methodology expertise from the designed and developed the Automated Collection Planning (ACP) Tool (a collection planning and management application) that supports intelligence data and collection processes ranging from intelligence requirements generation to collection tasking for all ISR sensors (both ground- and air-based platforms) using intelligence requirements, collection target data, and sensor capabilities data
  • Delivery of the ACP Tool under an ONR TTA into the TCAC FoS (TCAC 4.5)
  • Development of RTM, Software Requirements Specification (SRS), User Interface Mock-Ups, Agile SCRUM Sprint Planning and Tasking Documentation, System Specifications, Software Design Documents (SDD), and Interface Control Documents (ICD)
