VNE’s Section 508 Notification
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended in 1998, requires that all electronic and information technology (EIT) developed, procured, maintained or used by Federal agencies on or after June 21, 2001, must meet EIT accessibility standards developed by the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (Access Board), as set forth at 36 CFR Part 1194. The law, 29 U.S.C § 794 (d), also requires Federal agencies to ensure that individuals with disabilities who are Federal employees or members of the public seeking information or services from a Federal agency, have access to and use of information and data comparable to that provided to Federal employees or members of the public who are not individuals with disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed on the agency. Additionally, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 39.2 – Electronic and Information Technology implements Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
As a responsible Federal Government contractor, Vickers & Nolan Enterprises, LLC (VNE), must identify whether a proposed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) product or service is compliant with the Section 508 accessibility standards at 36 CFR 1194. VNE will provide agencies with all information available regarding compliance with accessibility standards on products and services provided by VNE. VNE is in the process of identifying each product or service with Section 508 information available. This Section 508 information will be contained in this section of this website. VNE relies on vendors/suppliers/manufacturers for delivery of certain products and services, and will refer inquiries to the appropriate vendor/supplier/manufacturer for the most current Section 508 information.
